Hint to puzzle 79: Sum of fourth powers

• Letting the numbers be a, b, c, determine the value of ab + bc + ca.
• Write down a cubic equation, with constant term P (to be found), whose roots are a, b, c.
• Substitute a, b, c into the cubic equation, above, yielding three equations, and add.  Hence find P.
